Hailing from the city of Chicago (and a few of the burbs), Veilside in its' current form has been a force on the Chicago music scene since 2006. Combining influences from across the musical spectrum, Veilside is a modern melodic rock band in the vein of their influences  Shinedown, Black Stone Cherry, and some of the "hair band " era mixed in. In March 2009, the band was named "Best Original Band" by Suburban Nitelife Magazine. Their first EP, "Chapter One" was released in 2008 and to date has sold over 4000 copies. Not resting on their laurels, Veilside once again entered the studio to begin recording a much more ambitious CD titled "This Time..." with producer Chuck Alkazian (Slipknot, Elton John, Cristina Aguilera) at Pearl Sound Studios which was released in 2011. The CD featured 5 new Veilside originals and their popular hard rock cover of the Kansas mega-hit "Dust in the Wind". In May 2013, the band decided to work with Subclass Studios in Chicago to record their highly anticipated 3rd EP "Meanwhile..." which was released in Sept 2013.  The band also worked with producer Joe Tiberi (Mechina) on an acoustic EP titled "Intermission" was released in September 2015.   In 2017, the band went yet again to Apothica Studios to release their first full-length album "Eclipse".  Veilside also won the 2011 "Bandemonium" hosted by 95 WIIL Rock (Kenosha) FM Radio, and has shared the stage with many notable national acts including current powerhouses Five Finger Death Punch, Halestorm, Alter Bridge, Hinder, and Black Stone Cherry, to classic rock acts like Dokken, Nelson, Great White, Sebastian Bach, Warrant, Skid Row, and Lita Ford. Veilside is a very strong supporter of children's charities, having donated time and money to the Kelsey Briggs Foundation Against Child Abuse, Headstones for Angels, and the National SIDS Organization, as well as hosts the annual "Breaking the Silence" Autism Awareness benefit show which raises funds for autism awareness.  Now going on its TENTH year, the event has raised over $116,000 for the cause!

Well we're all ready to go for FARMROCK 2014!!  And things have gone well.  We've played a few shows with former Manowar guitarist David "The Shred Demon" Shankle and we've had a blast!!  Total pro all the way around!  This weekend, we get to share the stage with some good friends, and alongside Queensryche, Warrant, Sebastian Bach, Great White, and LA Guns (and more!) and we're pretty excited to take the stage!!  Hope to see you there!!

Here's a shot of the band at The Music Factory in Michigan this past weekend:

And finally, if you're in the neighborhood this weekend come on out!!  It's going to be a GREAT show!!

Holy !@#%

It isn't every day that one of the very best guitarists in Chicago steps up and offers to help your band out during an unexpected lineup change...

... but that's exactly what the "Shred Demon", David Shankle of DSG and formerly of Manowar has done for us. David will be manning the lead guitar duties on an interim basis as he awaits the finishing touches on his new DSG recording "Still A Warrior" that will be released by Pure Steel Records.

We're excited about the possibilities, and we know we'll be able to learn from one of the best!

It with regret that we inform everyone that guitarist Mo Ismail has left Veilside.  This was an amicable split, and we absolutely wish him nothing but the best on any future projects he takes on.  For the time being, Veilside will continue on as a 4 piece (although there may be a guest guitarist at a few of our upcoming shows!).  In the meantime, we’re going to be auditioning new guitarists and hope to have some news on a potential new addition soon.  While it’s always an unknown when a band brings on a new member, we’d like to let our fans and friends know that we’re going to continue to write great songs and put on a great show.

Still chuggin' along......

So this summer has been GREAT to us so far!!  From kicking it off in Arizona with QUEENSRYCHE and WARRANT to the McHenry Fireworks, to the BreastFest fundraiser, to this past weekend's show with Mancow and ENUFF Z'NUFF - we've been living a dream!!  The comments have been great, and it words like that, that seem to motivate us to greater heights.  So with the announcement that the Panacea Fest in Michigan City, IN has been cancelled, the band finds itself with almost 4 weeks off!!  No worries, we've got stuff to catch up on!  First, we're going to get started on putting together our 4th quarter bookings, and then we're going to get some writing and recording in on projects we want to catch up on.  Then, we have a full slate of shows for August and September, with the "big dog" being FARMROCK 2014 - Veilside alongside Queensryche, Sebastian Bach, Warrant, LA Guns, Great White, and more!!  Don't miss this one!!

Thursday, June 12th

Our new single "Barrel of the Gun" is released today!!  We think this tune rocks, and we're hoping you do too!!  Make sure you give it a spin and tell us what you think of it in the guestbook!!

Also, make sure you check out the show calendar, as our summer dates are filling in quick!!  Hope to see you at a show, and enjoy "Barrel of the Gun"!!

5/20/14 - Summer is coming! (FINALLY)

Here in Chicago we're FINALLY starting to see some good weather!  That means the club season is slowed, and bands try their best to play some outdoor fests.  And this year, we're playing one of THE BEST fests there is - FARM ROCK 2014!!  That's right, we'll be sharing the stage with some of the bands we grew up idolizing and we can't wait!!

We're also getting ready to head out to ARIZONA this Memorial Day Weekend to rock with WARRANT and QUEENSRYCHE and we'll be sure to put up some video and pics!!  THANK YOU for stopping by!!  More news to come soon!!

BREAKING THE SILENCE TIME!!  Our SIXTH annual Autism Awareness fundraiser!!  Last year's event raised over $13,000 and this year we're hoping to top that!!  The event itself is SUNDAY APRIL 27th at Durty Nellies in Palatine, IL and will once again be an ALL AGES event.  We've also put together some of the best acts in the Chicagoland area who have graciously donated their time for this event!!  And of course, we're working hard to promote it, so we'll be returning to the WGN TV afternoon news on THURSDAY, APRIL 24th with a special acoustic performance.

Year's looking good so far.....

Well things have been moving at a hectic pace so far this year......our sixth annual "Breaking the Silence" autism awareness fundraiser is in full-on planning mode, and we think we have a shot at topping the $13k we raised last year.  More on that as we get into April (Autism Awareness Month).  We also have a GREAT announcement to make - we're going to be spending our Memorial Day Weekend in the desert......with QUEENSRYCHE and WARRANT (can't beat THAT!!) as part of the "Desert Rocks Concert Series" courtesy of Frederick Entertainment - Check out one of the flyers:

And THAT's just the beginning......more to come as we shake off this winter and get this train rolling!!  We've also done a bit of writing and recently debuted TWO new songs that went over extremely well, and we'll keep refining those until we're convinced they're as good as they can be.  In addition, we're going to be making our first trips to a pair of new clubs for us - H.O.M.E. Bar in Arlington Heights, IL on April 4th and The Metal Grill in Cudahy, WI on April 5th.  THANK YOU for stopping by the website and we hope you enjoy the songs!!

Kicking off a new year!

So we had a great time at the 2014 NAMM Convention!  Of course, it's great just to get away from the Chicago weather, if only for a few days, but even more importantly, the band heads out to meet with our sponsors, endorsements, and network with other musicians and companies.  Now that we're back, we're gearing up for our first show of the year, this one in Chicago at a club called FIZZ on January 31st.  Then the schedule gets BUSY, so be sure to check the band's show calendar right here on our website!  And if you haven't picked up a copy of "Meanwhile..." yet.....get over to a show and get one!!
